SPC Megan Black
Freestyle Wrestling 57kg
Rolling on the living room floor with family members (who were also wrestlers) was Megan’s introduction to the sport. She formally began in first grade, two days after her younger brother started wrestling. A fan of individual events, she also swam and ran cross-country, but found that wrestling pushed her like no other sport could. In her junior year of high school, she became the first female in Iowa history to place at the state wrestling tournament. At McKendree University she was both a wrestling team captain and an All-American all four years, as well as a Resident Assistant and Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader. Now she’s pursuing her dreams of Olympic gold with WCAP.
