Men's Biathlon
SGT Vaclav Cervenka found his way into the sport of biathlon through a lifelong passion for cross-country skiing and the influence of his mother who was an Olympian and father who was a biathlon coach. His journey in biathlon began in 2012, and after high school, he dedicated himself fully to the sport. Joining the U.S. Army as a Carpentry and Masonry Specialist (12W) provided him the opportunity to pursue biathlon at the highest levels, balancing service and sport to achieve national and international success.
To be fortunate enough to be put in the position to serve my country and participate in biathlon at the highest level all at the same time is definitely a dream come true.
